Entries open for City Meet. Declaration deadline is June 12th at 5pm.
Hi Gators,
The Robin Jacobs City Meet will be held on Friday, June 21st at the Bolton Park pool here in Winston-Salem. This meet will feature summer league teams from all over the Winston-Salem and surrounding areas. The meet is held in 2 sessions. The morning session will be for swimmers age 10 and under and will last until around 12:00-12:30pm. The afternoon session will be for swimmers ages 11 and up. The afternoon session will start around 1:30 and will last until around 5:50pm or 6:00pm. It is an extra meet on our schedule this year and therefore not part of our regular GFSL schedule.
For the third year in a row, we will take Glenridge to the City Meet. However, the terms of attendance will be a little different in years past.
1. Cost to attend: The cost for each Glenridge swimmer to attend City Meet will be $20.00. We placed a fee on participation this year to help defray the cost of attendance for the team. In years past we have had swimmers declare they were going to go and then back out after the team paid their entry fee. This cost covers entry fee, up to 4 individual events and the possibility of a relay(s). Placement on a relay depends on the number of kids that attend the meet in any given age group. Please note, payment of this fee is NON-REFUNDABLE, even if the event is cancelled or cut short due to weather. Payment will need to be paid to the Glenridge Venmo account (@glenridgegatorswinstonsalem) by June 12, 2024 at 5pm. Swimmers that declare but do not pay by the deadline will not be placed in the meet.
2. Declarations: Meet declarations are open NOW and will close at 5pm on June 12, 2024. When you declare you will have the option to select up to 4 individual events. Your choice of event is up to your swimmer but it must be a stroke they can swim legally. If you have questions about what that means, please feel free to leave notes in SwimTopia during your declaration.
3. Volunteers: Each team that participates in City Meet is required to provide 2 timers per session. I created timer volunteer positions in the job sign up section for the meet. Each timer position has been split into two halves so no one has to time for an entire session.
4. T-shirts: If you would like to order a Robin Jacobs City Meet t-shirt, please email me with your child's name and t-shirt size. Each shirt costs $18.00 and you will need to send payment to the Glenridge Venmo account (@glenridgegatorswinstonsalem) by June 12, 2024 at 5pm.
5. Meet Information: For more information about the meet (including what the t-shirt looks like) please visit https://www.gomotionapp.com/team/ncwsy/page/events/robin-jacobs-city-meet
Please reach out with questions.
Thanks!
