Last night and next week
Good Morning Gators!
Last night’s score was Greenbriar Farms 380 Glenridge 351. It was a really close meet that truly could have gone either way. We went into the meet knowing it was going to be an uphill battle and really fought hard until the end. I saw some great break out performances and some great examples of sportsmanship in the face of victory and defeat. This was a meet where I started to push some kids out of their comfort zone. We had kids that competed in an IM for the first time, some that swam strokes that were not their favorite and ones that really showed improvement in their stroke technique. One of the biggest take aways from this meet is that every point really does count in a swim meet. Every swimmer and every relay in every age group is capable of scoring points. We will continue to work on getting our strokes legal so that we continue to improve. We only have 2 dual meets left before league championships!
Next week we have another away meet at Town & Country on Tuesday, July 2nd. Declarations for this meet will CLOSE ON SUNDAY 6/30 AT 5PM – PLEASE DECLARE and SIGN UP FOR A VOLUNTEER POSITION!! Our practice schedule for next week will also be slightly modified due to the holiday. Practices will be as follows
Monday: regular AM and PM practice schedule
Tuesday: No AM practice. Meet Tuesday night
Wednesday: regular AM and PM practice schedule
Thursday: NO PRACTICES
Friday: AM practice only
Keep fighting, keep supporting each other, keep growing and, above all, keep having FUN!!
All the Gator love,
Karen
