Good Morning Gators!

Our very last meet of the season will be tomorrow so I wanted to send out some important information.  

1.  Location: Greensboro Aquatic Center, 1921 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27403.  If you plug this address into waze, the last few directions will tell you to turn left on Gate City Blvd and then take an immediate right to the aquatic center.  DON'T DO THAT- that is a reserved parking lot and the attendant will turn you away.  Instead, once you get to the intersection of Gate City Blvd, drive straight into the large parking lot with the parking ticket booth.  Cost to park will be $5.00.

2.  Athlete entrance:  once you bring your swimmer inside the facility, the swimmers must go through the bathrooms on the right.  PARENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ENTER THE LOCKER ROOMS WITH THEIR CHILDREN.  Kids will exit the locker room onto the pool deck and go to sit with our team in our assigned bleacher seating.  If you child needs assistance in putting on their swimsuit, please dress them in their swimsuit before you arrive at the GAC.

3.  Team seats:  All of the kids will be sitting together in our assigned seating.  Our spot will be the bleachers right in front of the boys locker room.  We will be under the parent seating close to the large scoreboards.  Unless you are a parent bleacher volunteer, coach, league rep, a runner or a timer, you cannot be on deck.  Emily Lee, Mary Owles and myself will be sitting with the kids during the morning session.  If you need to get an urgent message to your child you can text myself at (304)654-4658, Emily (336)970-0607 or Mary (412) 848-8291.  We will have a list of all of your contact info as well.  The good news is based on our location, you can lean over the ledge and likely get our attention too.

4.  Snacks, drinks and food:  The GAC advises us that outside food and drink are not allowed to be visibly brought through the doors.  HOWEVER, if food and drinks are concealed in bags and purses, they will not be looking to bust anyone.  DO NOT walk into the GAC with bags of outside food (Chick-fil-a, Jimmy Johns, etc.) or someone will make you leave.  That being said, your kids will be on deck for a long time.  PLEASE pack enough snacks and drinks for them to last for their session.  They will not be permitted to leave back and forth to go to the concession stands.  If you need to get something to them, you will have to meet them in the hallway outside of the locker room.

5. Volunteers:  The following people have signed up to volunteer:

I still need a runner for the AM session.  If you are interested in that position, please let me know ASAP!  

6. Warm-ups and timeline: I'm going to break this down into morning and afternoon sessions.

Morning Session: 

Doors open: 7:00am

Glenridge swimmers need to arrive to the GAC by 7:20am

Glenridge warm-up will be from 7:40am-8:00am in lanes 5-6 of the scoreboard side pool (in front of our bleachers)

8:30am- Timers meeting (Alexis Simon) at end of hall near hospitality room

8:45am- Coach meeting (Karen)

Meet Start: 9:00am

Meet End: 1:00pm

Afternoon Session:

Glenridge Swimmers need to arrive to GAC by 1:00pm

Glenridge warm up 1:15-1:35 in lane 5 of Scoreboard Pool

2:00pm- Timers meeting (Jayme and Leann) at end of hallway next to hospitality room

2:30- meet start

5:45- meet end

7. Heat Sheets and meet documents- all of these documents will be posted to the Swimtopia website.
