Good Afternoon Gators,

Unfortunately, our last home meet was cut short by Mother Nature.  We scored the events that were swam before the thunder and came up a little short on the point side to Bermuda Run.  The good news is that we have 2 meets left to swim!  Here is some important information for the next week:

1.  Free TYDE Clinic tomorrow!  TYDE is coming to our pool tomorrow to put on a clinic for our swimmers at our evening practice!  All swimmers ages 7 and up (that means 7-18 years old) should report to the pool for practice beginning at 5:30pm.  We will have a brief warm up and the TYDE clinic will start at 5:45pm.  They will cover starts, turns, finishes and underwaters for all of the strokes.

2.  No practice on Friday, July 4th.  Happy Birthday America!

3.  Glenridge at Brookwood.  Our final dual meet of the season will be on Tuesday, July 8th at 5:30pm at Brookwood Pool.  Declarations for this meet will close on Sunday July 6th at 5:00pm.  Please get your declarations in prior to the deadline.  The last week of swim team is the busiest so I need to get meet entries done by Sunday evening.

4.  GFSL Finals.  The swim league finals will be on Sunday, July 13.  Swimmers ages 10 and under will swim in the morning while the swimmers aged 11 and older will swim in the afternoon.  Declarations for this meet will close on Wednesday, July 9th at NOON.  Late declarations will not be accepted for this meet as I have to turn in all entries at a coach's meeting on Thursday, July 10.  The team is charged a fee for each swimmer to attend finals.  If you declare your swimmer as attending, please make all efforts to honor that commitment with obvious exceptions for illnesses or family emergencies.  

5.  Last Practice/Pancake Breakfast.  Our last practice and annual pancake breakfast will be on Friday, July 11th.  Please RSVP on the SwimTopia calendar so we know how many pancakes to make!

6.  End of the Season Party.  We'll wrap up the season on Monday July 14th with our end of the season party at the pool from 5pm-8pm.  Please RSVP on the SwimTopia calendar so we know how many people to plan for.  All swimmers and their family members are invited.
