Stroke and Turn Judges needed!

Hi Everyone,

I'm making another plea for new stroke and turn judges!  I promise it is not a bad job and no one is going to yell at you like they would at soccer, basketball, football or most other sports.  You get to stand at the edge of the pool and watch the meet up close and personal!

Tomorrow is the ONLY training the league has schedule for the summer.  I have expressed my concern/frustration that this training is being offered during one of the busiest weeks of the school year, but here we are.  It takes place tomorrow night at 7pm at Forsyth Country Club.  The training consists of watching videos as a group and going over the league rules of officiating.  To help you get a better understanding of how to be a stroke and turn judge, I've put together links for all of the strokes.  Once you take the course, you'll take a test.  I've attached a "study guide" for the test so you don't have to worry about not passing.

PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE - WE NEED STROKE AND TURN JUDGES!!! YOU ONLY HAVE TO SIT THROUGH THE COURSE ONCE!!  Every year you'll just renew your certification.

If you can attend the training, please sign up:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E49ACA92BAAFCC...

**disclaimer- this video goes by USA Swimming guidelines and says that on a turn, after a swimmer turns on to their stomach(breast) and completes their arm pull, they must initiate their turn and cannot kick into the wall (unless the kick occurs as part of the continiuous turning motion).  Our league DOES PERMIT a swimmer to continue to flutter kick into the wall on their breast after they have completed their arm pull so long as they don't take any more arm pulls.  Real life scenario:  Little johnny prepares for a backstroke flip turn and turns over on his stomach(breast) and takes one arm pull leaving both arms at his side.  He is farther from the wall than he thought so he keeps kicking for two seconds before finally completing his flip to land on the wall and push off on his back.**

Thanks for your help!

Karen
