Improvement Results, Gator of the Week and Prayer Request
Good morning Gators!
1. Gators Improve at Westwood!
I hope everyone had fun at our meet last night. The final score was Glenridge 358 to Westwood 486. We had our smallest squad this season of 51 swimmers but had huge improvements with 57 improved times!! We had more kids swimming IM's and distance events! We've got a lot of great momentum and great things happening going into our final three meets which are ALL AT HOME!! Let's get fired up!
2. Gator of the Week
This season we are starting a recognition of swimmers from each age group as our "Gator of the Week". Swimmer's are selected for their hard work at practice and meets, kindness towards others and sportsmanship. We have rotating yard signs to let everyone on your street know of your swimmer's accomplishment! Last week our Gators of the Week were:
Eleanor Driscoll (6u)
Mimi Maedjaja(7-8)
Adam Stuart (9-10)
Caroline Stevens (11-12)
Claire Richards (13-14)
Brian Stratmann (15-18)
Clemmie Pace (Coach of the Week)
We've got great pics posted of these kids on the Glenridge Gators instagram account!! Follow us @glenridgegatorswinstonsalem for a great collection of fun pictures from our meets!
3. Prayer Request
The best part of summer swim is the feeling of community and the bonds of fellowship among our team families. These bonds extend far beyond the short season and create memories that last a lifetime. One of our dear swim families needs our love and support. Today Wende Rogers (mom to Olive Kate and Aldyn and wife to Andrew) is having a major open heart surgery. Please say a prayer, blessing, or positive for vibe of healing and recovery for Wende and her family. We love the Rogers and are here to support them in any way that we can!
I will send a separate message today about our meet tomorrow. Until then, we will see you on the pool deck!
Go Gators!!
Karen
