Hi Gators,

The league finals will be held on Sunday July 12th at the Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) in Greensboro, NC.  This is the last meet of the season where all 21 teams from across the league compete against each other.  There will be awards for individuals as well as teams.  Team awards are based on division.  There will be a winning team for the large division, medium division and small division.  Glenridge is in the medium division.

This meet is divided into 2 sessions.  Swimmers ages 10 and under will swim from 9:00am-roughly 1pm.  Warm ups will be assigned and will occur sometime between 7:30 and 8:30am.  The afternoon session will begin at 2:30pm.  Warm ups will be assigned and will occur sometime between 1:00 and 2:00.

Finals Eligibility

In order to swim in league finals, a swimmer must have swam in at least 2 regular season meets.  We can only enter up to 3 swimmers per event.  Therefore, the swimmers with the fastest legal times for those events will get priority.  If a swimmer doesn't have a time for an event (meaning they haven't swam that event during the season or they haven't swam that event legally) they cannot be entered into that event.  Ultimately, the number of events a swimmer will be entered into depends on the number of swimmers that declare for finals. 

Fees for finals

The cost of finals is covered by the team.  Glenridge is charged $15 per swimmer plus a $200 heat sheet fee for the team.  This is NOT a meet to declare that you can attend and then change your mind at the last minute.  Relays are created based on declarations and we may not have an alternate.  Aside from unexpected illness or emergency, if a swimmer declares that he or she is attending this meet, that swimmer is/are expected to show up.  

While volunteer roles are much fewer in number, we will have to fill these roles by July 1st.  A meet at the GAC is very different from a regular season dual meet. Parents must sit in the stands during the meet while the swimmers sit on the pool deck.  The only time a parent may be on the pool deck is if they are volunteering.

Glenridge is required to fill the following volunteer roles: 

Morning session: 1 timer, 1 runner

Afternoon session: 2 timers, 1 stroke and turn judge

DEADLINE TO DECLARE FOR FINALS IS JULY 7TH - NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
